Thorsten Steiner is Professor of Neurology and Neuro-Intensive Care at Heidelberg University Hospital. He is head of the department of Neurology at Klinikum Frankfurt Höchst, and Honorary Professor at Copenhagen University. His field of expertise is the management of acute stroke acute care and in particular of acute intracerebral Hemorrhage (ICH). Prof. Steiner is the former chair of the European stroke guideline (ESO) board and currently chair of the ESO ICH committee. He has authored and co-authored various publications on ICH, acute stroke, and stroke guidelines. He is member of several steering committees and principle investigator in national and international clinical trials on intracerebral hemorrhage.
